Amazon.com Product Description Improve your balance while enjoying a whole new form of exercise with the Raleigh MTB 20-inch unicycle. The device offers such features as a double-bolt seat clamp that prevents slippage, cotterless three-piece cranks, and a padded saddle for maximum comfort. Awesome Unicycle May 10, 2010 S. Behme (Coraopolis, PA United States) This is a great product. Our son is 12 and never rode before. We weren't sure if this one would be too big and is isn't. Is is fine to learn on and now he rides around the neighborhood. Soon he will learn how to juggle while riding!
Bearing noise, pedal arm falls off and no manual May 9, 2010 J. Schlaybach 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not sure how to contact Customer Service at Amazon. Purchased this item with high hopes based on other's recommendations. We bought this a few weeks ago for my son's 15th b-day. It came without instructions but it was not hard to put together. So no manual or instruction, and we also did not receive any warranty card, information. This was trouble #1.
Trouble #2 - after about a week, when my son was beginning to get the hang of riding the bike, the one pedal arm fell off. Not the pedal, as we were sure to put these on the correct sides of the unicycle as mentioned in someone's review. This is the actual pedal arm that is bolted to the center wheel shaft. The bolt loosened up causing the pedal arm to fall off. So we took off the plastic cover and tighten the nut thinking that would solve it. A few days later it came off again. So we placed a lock washer under the nut and it is staying on but now the plastic cap no longer fits over the nut.
Trouble #3 - so we've had it now for a big 1 month and the bearings are starting to make a ticking noise. It is loudest when my son puts his weight on the pedals while riding. Even after trying to lube the bearings, the noise remains!
My son is not heavy, and the unicycle appears constructed very well, yet we've now seen 2 issues that appear to be related to workmanship or quality.
Is returning this used item to Amazon our only recourse?
unicycle capability April 5, 2010 Matthew D. Redmond (CA) this uniycle is great. I got it as a chrismas prsent. If you have never put together a unicycle before just give it to a bike store and have them put it together. If not just make sure you have evrything right and tighten stuff as much a s you can. this unicycle is great for jumps because of the grip handle on the seat(the picture doesn't show this) and the big tire. good deal.
Depends on how you want to use it February 28, 2010 jill a topel (mesa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Mine was fine until I got good. Riding it is great; no complaints. WHen i started jumping down stuff, that is when it got messed up. I was jumping down a 1 foot drop and the wheel bent. Im a pretty big guy though. Good for flatland and tricks, but definately not trials, mountain, or street. Also, DO NOT use the stock pedals. Invest 15 bucks and get good eastern ones. BYEEEEEEE
