Amazon.com Product Description Tired of carrying your spare clothes, bike tools, and groceries in a cumbersome backpack while you ride? Turn to the Topeak MTX trunk bag EXP, which boasts 1,010 cubic inches of storage space in a framework that attaches securely to the rear of your bike. The MTX trunk bag offers ample storage space, with a divided main compartment and an expandable top, along with two side panels with expandable panniers.
Cyclists can use the optional rain cover (sold separately) to keep gear dry. | As a result, you can fit several smaller items in the main bag, or you can enlarge it to store additional gear, clothes, or snacks. The bag is also tough and long lasting, with rigid molded side panels and a flexible, water-repellent 420-denier nylon construction. And once you arrive at your destination, you can carry the MTX trunk bag EXP just like a messenger bag thanks to the included shoulder strap. Other features include a carrying handle, a 3M reflective strip, a RedLite clip, molded EVA foam insulation, elastic top bungees, and an optional rain cover (sold separately). The bag--which is compatible with the MTX QuickTrack rack--measures 9.8 by 14.1 by 8.5 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 2.36 pounds. About Topeak Topeak has received an avalanche of awards and accolades since its founding in 1991. The company has developed such innovations as the JowBlow floor pumps with SmartHead technology, which sense and automatically adapt to Schrader and Presta valves without swapping out parts; the award-winning Morph series of mini pumps; the ALiEN multitools, which separate into different parts so cyclists can bring only the tools they need; and the Hexus mini tool and Bikamper personal shelter, which received the prestigious Red Dot award for outstanding design. The most important part of the Topeak story, however, is the passion of the founders and employees, who are cyclists, too. The company is dedicated to making the ride better, and focuses on creating products and accessories to help facilitate an escape from the traffic jams, cubicles, and mind-numbing meetings of everyday life.

PERFECT for commuting! August 27, 2010 Timothy J. Patton (CLAYTON, OH, US) This bag attaches and detaches so quickly! REALLY makes loading up MUCH easier! Previously, I had saddle bags that straps with plastic latches and it took WAY too much time to hook up. This bag is a breeze. Just make sure you get the rack (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FI6WSG/ref=oss_product) and pannier frame (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FI6WRW/ref=oss_product). Sure, it's some extra money but it's worth it!
Redesigned for the worse August 18, 2010 Gabor Lukacs (Amherst, MA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Years ago I bought this bag with the same name and I really liked it (that was a 5 star).
Eventually one of the zips wore out, so I decided to get a new one. This time around there seemed to be less selection, but I found my bag with the same name, and the shape on the little picture was even more elegant. Great.
After I received it, I noticed, that the velcro clips were not present any more, so I only could use my new bag on the bike that had the topeak rack, the back basket was not present any more, the top area was simplified and I didn't have place for my tools there any more, and the whole body of the bag was quite a bit smaller. The items that used to fit don't fit any more (like a half-gallon or gallon of juice for example is now too tall. The expandability was retained (still too small) and the side paniers were there too.
All in all, the company is going towards cheapness and occasional use, and the bag is much less appropriate for commuter use with the left-out features.
Well-constructed and very convenient! August 7, 2010 E. Oppenhuizen (Wyoming, MI United States) This bag is great. I purchased it for those elusive sunny days we have in Michigan, so I can commute to work. It works seamlessly with the Topeak bike rack. The bag itself is very spacious. I usually put my clothes one one side, papers and folders in the other, my lunch, keys, etc., in the top, and my shoes on the top of it with the bungees. It works great!
Topeak Trunk Bag - w/Rigid Molded Panels July 28, 2010 K After reading the reviews of this product I decided to take the plunge and buy one. I'm so glad I did. I am a newby in bike riding (ok, I did alot 30+ years ago when I was younger)and was looking for something that would take the load off my back when riding into work. I needed something to carry my laptop, paperwork, lunch and work cloths. This met my needs. It slides onto the rack, (I purchased the Topeak Bike Rack to go with this) clicks in and I'm good to go. I have had some issue's with the zipper that seems to be a little sticky, but it hasn't broke.
Good carrying case July 14, 2010 jer this case has thus far proved very convient for carrying my wants. It would've been nice if they had added the water coverage bag in the purchase. I have bought one of these carry cases for a friend and their happy also with it.
